  If I could rate the Dexter Pharmacy a 0, I absolutely would. Their only saving grace is the selection in their shop is good. The pharmacy on the other hand, HOW DO THEY STILL HAVE THEIR LICENSE?!? I have a disability and my border collie dog, Zoe, is trained for service. About a year and a half ago, the vet noticed some abnormalities in her blood work that indicated diabetes. We were given the prescription, brought it to the pharmacy, and picked up her insulin. Zoe's health continued to dwindle quickly. One weekend, we were out of syringes and contacted the bed so she could make it through the weekend. At this visit, a serious conversation was had about whether or not it was ethical to continue treatment because her quality of life was so poor. When we picked the syringes from the vet, the vials had almost three times the amount in them. We asked the vet if we just draw up a third of the vial. Confused, the vet said her dose for the past three months was SUPPOSED to be the full syringe worth and we realized the pharmacy had been filling the wrong prescription. Zoe is back on the right dose but her eye sight has been lost because it took 6 months to discover this issue. Previously, she'd run and chase the ball for hours and could perform 70+ tasks for service work. Now, she needs her own guide to make sure she's learning our new house layout. It would be one thing if that was the only issue. However, to top it all off, my mom's prescription had the correct label on the bag, correct label on the bottle, but the pills inside didn't look right. She took the medication, because pills don't necessarily look the same generic vs. name brand. She had a poor reaction and brought it back. They REFUSED to tell her what they incorrectly filled the prescription with! The pharmaceutical licensing has been contacted and informed of these two potentially deadly errors. We aren't a family that goes after a lawsuit, but to lose my service dog and personal pet over an error like this is inexcusable. For the health and safety of your family, STAY AWAY FROM THE PHARMACY AT DEXTER PHARMACY. Pharmacy Solutions on Jackson Road is worth the extra time in the car.
